Community Profile for Mazomanie, WI
Mazomanie offers the appeal of small town living with a close knit community. The town has a few annual festivals that bring neighbors together. Madison Magazine named two of them as "Best of the Burbs" in 2016. The first is Wild West Days, a September festival that includes a tractor pull, demolition derby, parade and live music. The festival dates back to the 1950s, when the town was torn up to add a new sewer line. The community decided to enjoy "the wild west" feel of town, and the festival has continued. The second event, "The Gandy Dancer Festival," celebrates the town's history, and its connection to the railroad. Other popular features include a community pool, library, beach, and several parks. The Wisconsin River flows along the edge of town, and attracts people for fly fishing, canoe and kayaking, and other outdoor entertainment. Black Earth Creek and Lake Marion are both to the southwest.
Real estate in Mazomanie is quite affordable. There are historic homes around the downtown area, and newer options as you move further out. Many of the newer homes offer ranch-style living. Move farther out of town and you find luxury properties with tremendous views and larger lots.
